The due date and deadline cannot be changed on and IEP but maybe a goal needs to be updated because the child has mastered it before the date listed on the IEP. Parents must be notified and a copy must be sent to them as well
An Addendum can be remembered by ADDing something to an IEP that was not previously listed on the contract. This could be ESY (extended school year) or therapies that were not listed before the original IEP was wrote. This is common when you get a student in your room who was tested and did not show any signs of development or lack of communication and after working with the child it is discovered that they need more support than planned.
Both are important when writing IEP’s and keeping them current and up to date. Working together with the team is very important for the success of the student. comment as you see fit.
