The theory posits that moving the calendar year 300 ?years forward to the new millennium (AD 1000) ?would have been beneficial to the rulers of the time. Heribert believed this was achieved through the alteration and fabrication of both documentary and physical evidence. Although his theory received coverage in the popular media at the time of its publication, it was widely rejected as flawed by historians.
