This assignment is designed to help you identify your personality profile and the practical implications it can have on your career choices. It is important that you give thoughtful, accurate answers.
1) Describe the Trait Theories of Personality in general and the Big Five Model in particular. Define all terms.
2) Using the Big Five Model describe your own personality. GIVE EXAMPLES to substantiate your claims. Note: Using the Big
Five
Model implies that you will describe your personality on
all five factors
, not just some of them. You might find it very useful to use the following table, that you can also find in the textbook.
-take the first factor, and try to recognize what high scorer and low scorer characteristics you have
-give specific examples of these characteristics as you possess them. For example, if you say you are creative, give some examples of how you are creative: maybe you design clothes, or write poetry, or design computer games etc.
-based on these characteristics try to give yourself a score between 1 and 10, or just and estimate: low, medium, or high scorer
-take the next factor and do the same, and so on until you are done with all five factors.
3) Based on this personality profile, in what profession do you think you would do well? EXPLAIN WHY. Your explanation should be based on matching your characteristics with the demands of the profession.
4) Write in full sentences and paragraphs, not in bullet points. Check your grammar and spelling.
5) The paper should be a MINIMUM of four pages of double spaced text, not counting empty spaces. It should have 1-inch margins all around, and be written in a 12-point size font that is easily legible (such as Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial).
6) If you choose to take a personality test online please DO NOT include the results in the paper. The purpose of the assignment is for you to engage with the subject matter, to assimilate the theory and learn how to apply it, not to create a personality profile online.
