Making a good first impression with your cooperating teacher, students, and parents is important because these are the primary people a student teacher will have interactions with. It is also very important because a good relationship with the cooperating teacher and parents can affect the students. It is also important to make a good impression are the school campus because it is important for a student teacher to have this community of people to lean on for support and if that first impression is not a good one then those teachers would be less willing to help the student teacher when needed. For example, when my cooperating teacher was out last week, I had only been with her for one week prior and I was still learning a lot about the curriculum and the routine. When I got lost or had questions about the curriculum, I was able to ask the other teacher in the surrounding classrooms and they were able to help guide me and provide me that extra support. The ones who benefitted from me having this relationship was with the other teachers was the students because I was able to provide them a supportive learning environment. If I would not have made a good first impression then those other teachers may not have been willing to offer me that support. I think the professional dispositions are able to help me make a positive first impression because it guides me in how to not only be ethical but it allows for me to set the tone for building positive professional relationships. comment as you see fit.
