1 pts Question 9
How did the Almohad Empire differ from the Almoravid Empire when considering Islamic religious doctrine? The Almohads were far less strict in enforcing ideas of proper Islamic practice and didn’t care who wore or didn’t wear veils. The Almohads challenged the scriptural literalism of the Almoravids (who believed that God literally had hands, eyes, and ears) and instead emphasized the transcendental unity of God.
The Almohads re-introduced Shia Islam in the Maghreb.
The Almoravids were far more cosmopolitan in their approach to religious doctrine, whereas the Almohads practiced a provincial, rudimentary form of Islam.
