After the first week, I feel confident in my ability to develop relations with the school community, students, and parents/caregivers. I believe I have been respectful regarding each student’s different backgrounds and skill levels. I am excited to be back at the school with the same students with whom I completed my Clinical Field Experience hours. One piece of evidence demonstrating my competence in these areas is the trust my co-teacher and team have given me. One place that I have been struggling with is learning all the curriculum at such a fast past and taking over the lesson planning. I am fixing this growth area by bringing home all the curriculum and studying it every night during lesson planning; however, I can tell that I am so focused on catching up with the curriculum that my coursework is slipping.
