Unit 3: Video Study
Before Watching the Videos
Step 1:
Read the following paragraph from The Family: A Proclamation to the World, and provide the information requested.
”
In THE PREMORTAL REALM, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted his plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life.
The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.”
How does the doctrine of Pre-mortality impact or influence your understanding of the Plan of Salvation?
Paragraph three mentions a “plan” that we accepted before we came into mortality. What kind of plan was it? How would you explain the plan to another? (simplified)
How does obtaining a physical body help us gain experience and progress toward perfection? How do physical strengths and weaknesses contribute to our growth?
