What best describes the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812? It was a ceasefire, returning prisoners and resetting borders, but not solving any underlying problems that caused the war. It solved the issue of neutral trade by setting out international laws about it. It gave the US large portions of what was then Canada, but is now US land.
