For this assessment item, you will write a
1500-word +/- 10% research-based essay
on a current trend, challenge, or issue in education. You should include a title, and write in prose (not bullet points). Sub-headings and sections are not required.
The aim of your essay is to develop either
an argument
or
a response to a research question
on a topic of your choice by means of
secondary research
. You will identify relevant secondary sources, engage with them critically, and use them to develop a sophisticated argument or response to your research question.
The essay must be written in your own words, and conform to academic writing conventions. You are expected to include in-text referencing, and an appropriately documented reference list, including
no more than six authoritative secondary sources
. You may use any referencing style for in-text citations and references as long as you are consistent.
