*Assessment question*General Roué is the current head of State of Rutamu. At a State banquet recently held in honour of the outgoing Candoman ambassador to Rutamu, the Candoman foreign minister presented General Roué with a document, neatly bound in a folder, saying to him: ‘Your Excellency, this is the text of the treaty negotiated by your country with mine in respect of the disputed peninsular. Would your Excellency wish to append your signature so that the treaty will enter into force immediately, as agreed by your foreign minister and myself without any further delay?’(p. 111) General Roué, a well-known alcoholic and philanderer, signed the treaty while distracted by two young women, one of whom held a large bottle of vodka and the other of whom held a glass—apparently for the General. A couple of days after the party, the Rutamuan foreign affairs minister complained to his Candoman counterpart that General Roué had signed the treaty without the authority of the Rutamuan Supreme Military Council, the highest governing body of the country, and that the General was both drunk and distracted when he signed. He also complained that, in fact, the text of the treaty that the General signed that day differed slightly from what was previously agreed. The minister argued that therefore Rutamu was not bound by the act of signing.Advise the parties.

Min 50 words. I can’t believe that this is my last post for a Discussion Question. It doesn’t seem real, yet. I have enjoyed getting to know each of you through your post and at times I have related to many of your scenarios before. I am thankful and blessed to have had this experience and course work through Grand Canyon University. It has given me an opportunity that I never though was possible. Becoming a teacher has always been my dream and now I get to live it, because of my professors and GCU. I feel confident and excited to enter the classroom and become the best teacher I can be. I pray that the Lord will give me the future knowledge and strength that lies ahead of me to face in my teaching career. Comment back as you see fit

  • explain how deficit models of learning operate in American educational institutions.

M12: CRR Empowering Pedagogies Objective: The objective of this Critical Reflection/Response is to critically reflect on Module 13’s Lesson, and to respond to the following prompt. Background: In Module 13, you applied an holistic, anthropological perspective in order to consider a number of different ways in which American educational institutions are subject to racial, ethnic, and other inequities. The lessons and videos presented evidence of these inequities, and also presented a number of powerful critiques of underlying social structures. Prompt: In a couple of sentences, explain how deficit models of learning operate in American educational institutions. Provide at least one salient example from the Module to evidence your explanation. Offer a critique of deficit model learning, which not only points to the political and public nature of the debate, but that counteracts that model through a pedagogy of empowerment. If this seems a tough challenge, try placing yourself in the shoes of a teacher/instructor/professor – or even administrator – who is tasked with the goal of being inclusive and equitable in an educational institution. Draw from the Module elements for inspiration (giving credit where credit is due) but feel free to draw from personal experience and to offer innovative and creative solutions. Requirements: • your work must be original • demonstrate your understanding of the Module 13 theme “Social Institutions – Education” – up to 5 points • incorporate an anthropological perspective and effectively utilize appropriate terms and concepts – up to 10pts • identify at least two (2) elements of Module 13 (for example, the Module readings, linked articles, YouTube film clips (esp. the Paulo Freire film clip – hint hint!, Podcasts, and related articles) in the content of your submission – up to 10pts • write critically how those elements inspired your reflection – up to 10pts • be written in clear and concise language, free of grammatical issues, stay within the word limit – up to 10 pts • properly cite (that is, give credit) to the elements you mentioned above – up to 5pts The Instructional Assistants and I are looking for a good critical reflection, following the guidelines posted in Module 1.

Select five topics covered in the course (they may be people, events, concepts, documents, etc…) that you would argue are most indispensable for understanding the development of world history between the cradle of civilization and the early renaissance. Then, write an essay of 1000 words in which you describe and explain the reasoning of your choices. Topics must come from all five units covered in this course (that is, you can’t choose two topics from unit 1, etc… you must take one topic from unit 1, one topic from unit 2, and so on…). Your answer should be grounded in factual evidence drawn from course materials. Quotations are welcome, but you should take care to limit the total amount of quotations to less than 10% of your total essay.

  • Why humans and other primates care so much about fairness, with Sarah Brosnan, PhD”

“Why humans and other primates care so much about fairness, with Sarah Brosnan, PhD”
All primates, including humans, value justice since it’s crucial to their existence. Cooperation and social bonds may flourish when people trust one another and treat each other fairly. It also facilitates peaceful conflict resolution between parties. True justice is necessary for every community to thrive. Sarah Brosnan is a professor who investigates primate justice. She discovered that apes would forego benefits if it means the game is more fair for everyone. They may forego eating or using a resource in order to aid someone else in need. Brosnan hypothesizes that the primates’ developed empathy is responsible for this behavior. She thinks that justice is crucial to the well-being of any society. As Brosnan has also discovered, fairness is a powerful driver of human behavior. To her surprise, she discovered that monkeys and apes put in more effort when they think the game is being played fairly. If they don’t think they’re being unfair, people are more willing to share meals with others and work together on a project. Brosnan believes this is because fairness is considered as a sign of character in primates. She thinks it’s critical for people to have the assurance that their honest behavior is reflected favorably on them.
“Why you should apologize even when it’s hard to, with Karina Schumann, PhD”
I’m sorry. It’s such a simple phrase. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to say it. It’s easy to type it into text, yet it’s one of the hardest things for people to say. We all know what it means, but for some reason, we have such a hard time saying it. And you know, this isn’t just like a Western thing. This is something that is found across cultures. But even though it’s hard to say, apologizing is important. Why? There are a few reasons why apologizing is so important. First of all, it can help to repair relationships. When you apologize, you’re saying you’re sorry for what happened and want to make things right. This can often be very difficult, but it’s worth trying to keep your relationships healthy. Secondly, apologizing can help to restore trust. When someone wrongs us, we may feel like they no longer trust us. Apologizing can help to restore that trust and can often make the other person more willing to cooperate with us in the future. Finally, apologizing can help to repair our reputation. It tends to get circulated around the internet when something bad happens quickly. Apologizing can help to minimize the damage that has been done and can often help to improve our reputation (Schumann, 2022).
“Relationship advice from a couple of psychologists, with Anthony Chambers, PhD”
When one or both couples seek help from a therapist for marital troubles, it is called couple therapy. Better communication, conflict resolution, and overall relationship satisfaction are all possible results. It is helpful for couples to seek counselling if they are having any kind of problems together. It can help couples who are having trouble communicating, having arguments, or just generally feeling distant from one another. When one or both people in a couple believe the relationship isn’t working, that’s when they’re most likely to decide to end it. When couples’ issues become worse, they tend to feel less satisfied with their relationships. If a couple is having trouble communicating, arguing, being intimate, or trusting one another, these are all warning indicators that the relationship may not have much further to go.
